What is The Key to Immortality?
Is immortality even worth it in this world?
Okay, let’s cut straight to the chase, shall we? Who here wants to live forever? Raise your hands if you do.
*sees everyone raise their hands*
Let me elaborate on that question. Who here wants to live forever in a world that is clearly not designed for humanity to live on it indefinitely? In a world that’s falling apart at the seams, no less?
*everyone lowers their hands*
I thought so.
Now, let’s keep this on track, and talk about the reason I bring up immortality, shall we?
For starters, there’s a massive difference between a regular person having immortality, and a person’s creations living on long after the creator passes on. Which would you prefer to happen, in this case? To live forever, or have a lasting impact on the world at large by the time you make it to the end of your journey?
As an example, the works of the ancient Greek philosophers are among the case of a person’s creations living on long after the creator passes on. The works of Homer, the poet who wrote The Iliad and The Odyssey, are another example to be kept in mind. Heck, even the Tale of Genji is an example, which was written in Japan a rather long time ago (but nowhere…
