The Year 2022 is off to a Strange Start, and Yet I Love It

Why it is important to keep the good in mind for times like this.

All right, allow me to explain my reasoning for the name of this post. The weather was wonky for the first seven days of January over here in the Pacific Northwest, and this bout of insane weather had next to no reprieve for all of us. It snowed for quite a while, ever since Christmas Day last year, and made it impossible for my housemates and me to leave our house.

The snow stopped by now, actually even melted, too. However, on the 7th of January, the wind started speeding up a lot worse than usual. This happened while I was out of the house, too, and in a car that somewhat kept me safe.

To top all of this off, though, my editor and friend had gotten a cold that he’s fighting through. He was going to meet with me on the 7th, but the sudden illness threw everything off, so we had to postpone it until the 21st. It’s a right shame, too, since he’s getting on in years.

Anyway, while the year is off to a strange start, I’m glad it’s going the way it is.

Allow me to explain why I say that. Please note, the reasons I give have to be stated as primarily writing-related, so that I don’t…
