That Was a Bummer For Me
My piece for The Writing Cooperative got rejected
Well, it’s official. I do not know what I’m even doing as a writer for The Writing Cooperative. Whatever happened to knowing what sources to cite for a piece? This whole writing venture is getting on my nerves… and not the angry sort of getting on my nerves. I’m just worried that I’ll not get anything submitted properly to the people who run the publication.
It all started about five days ago, with me writing and submitting the piece I hoped would get picked up by them. I took a lot of time to write the piece, but patience wasn’t my strongest virtue. As it stands, I only waited a couple of days before I submitted the work to the people at the publication.
Can you imagine the email I got earlier this afternoon that said my piece was rejected? If not, well, it would require being a writer that has been around the world a fair bit to know what rejection feels like. Trust me, I have been around for a while, almost 32 years of life.
Now, what was it that got me rejected? Which rule did I forget to follow, by any chance? Oddly enough, it was the lack of citations that did me in, which sucks for me.
