My aunt, my mother’s younger sister, passed away on April 28th, 2022, because of having had a heart attack the night before. She was a loving woman who loved so many people, especially children. So everyone will miss her.

From my aunt and the rest of the family, she was the third to pass on from my mother’s side of the family. Before her, in reverse order, was her father, my Gramps, and an uncle that I never met. She is survived by a large, loving family and many, many friends.

Because of some issues on my end, I couldn’t see her before she passed on, which sucked a lot. I blame the world’s longest flu season that isn’t even a flu season.

Following is a poem that my mother wrote to share with everyone else in our family tree. It is used with permission to showcase the kind of woman my aunt was.

Sweet little girl with white-blond curls
and a nose that turns up on the end —
what are you wearing today?
A pink gingham dress,
with wide white lace on the gathered skirt,
a black velvet vest,
and brand new shoes.
Don’t you look pretty!
If you walk flat-footed
you won’t wrinkle those shoes
and they’ll look nice even longer.
