I Have A Writing Exercise

Care to do it as well?

It had come to my attention that I don’t write enough words in my manuscripts these days. How do I write more words in my manuscripts at all, and how am I supposed to know where these words are to go? My problem stems from me not writing enough in the way of sensory details.

I’m sure you’re all asking (read: demanding) to know how I am going to overcome this issue… simply put? I plan to go back and add the details to my writing ASAP.

Now, to get to the topic at hand, I have a writing exercise that I want to share with everyone. This exercise should take about 15 minutes to do and should show whether you overwrite or underwrite. To do it, you’ll need to follow a couple of steps.

Step 1: Look for an image on sites like Pinterest, preferably one with a person in it.

Step 2: Set a timer on the computer to go off after 15 minutes of writing, while making sure that it starts at the time you want it to start.

Step 3: Write for 15 minutes.

Below is an image I used for this exercise for the first time around yesterday (it’s currently February 8th, 2022, and a few hours before midnight):
